Vajrashakti Defence and Aerospace: defence-grade nitrocellulose, made in India

Every round fired starts with nitrocellulose: artillery, small arms, tank guns, anti-armour weapons and rockets. We secure the supply chain. We power the propulsion.

MissionThe foundation of firepower

Every round fired begins with one material: nitrocellulose. Vajrashakti manufactures it, defence-grade and at scale, in India. Built for the nation’s self-reliance, and made for the world.

Why it matters

Making India self-sufficient. Building for the world.

~70%

Of India’s need is imported

India needs about 4,780 tonnes of defence-grade nitrocellulose a year. Roughly 3,300 tonnes of it is not made at home. A sovereign arsenal cannot rest on borrowed chemistry.

Private nitrocellulose plant in India

No private Indian company has made defence-grade nitrocellulose at industrial scale. Our plant is designed for it from the ground up.

Line 1, scaling to 2,400 MTPA

Line 1 alone covers about a quarter of India’s shortfall. The 200-acre site is planned for three lines and 2,400 tonnes a year.

A year of demand open to new supply

Allied forces are short of defence-grade nitrocellulose too. India comes first; qualified exports follow.
